Therefore, it is necessary that the pathophysiological background of these two conditions is properly under- stood. To achieve that, an analogue electronic circuit was used to simulate the acute left ven- tricular systolic and acute left ventricular diastolic failure. The results of the analysis were displayed graphically and have shown that the occurrence of an acute left ventricular failure led to an immediate but temporary decrease of the mean arterial pressure, which normalized during the transition period due to homeostatic mechanisms. In the new stationary state after the acute left ventricular failure, there were two major and crucial changes. The first was the rise of the left atrial pressure, which suggested pulmonary congestion. The second was the change of the left ventricular volume, more precisely a rise of the volume in the case of acute systolic failure and a decrease of the volume in the case of acute diastolic failure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Acute left ventricular systolic and acute left ventricular diastolic failures are very common conditions with a significant negative impact on the patient\u2019s quality of life.
