Ophtalmic day-case surgery and anesthesia have developed over the past ten years. Careful selection of ambulatory patients, preoperative evaluation, good control of the symptoms of pre-existing diseases which is in the hands of the patien\u00adt&#8217;s personal physician and internist and optimal intra- and post operative anesthesiological management reduce the perioperative risks associated with the patient&#8217;s pre-existing chron\u00adic diseases. Prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting and good postoperative analgesia make home care for such patients easy and comfortable, and reduce the incidence of complications.
