Electroretinography is a noninvasive and objective, yet nonstandardised examination technique, which has been in clinical use for number of years. The aim of this study was to record electroretinographic responses according to ISCEV standards, and to test a new laboratory-produced non-corneal HK \u2013 loop electrode. Electroretinograms were recorded in 40 healthy volunteers and 11 patients with retinitis pigmentosa, using a non-corneal HK \u2013 loop electrode as the active electrode. The preparation of patients, as well as the parameters of the electroretinographic system were adjusted to comply with the ISCEV standards. Normative electroretinographic data obtained in a group of volunteers were compared with electroretinographic responses of the patients group. The method used in our study proved of great value in the electrophysiological assessment of the retinal function. Both, the volunteers and the patients found the non-corneal HK \u2013 loop electrode quite comfortable.
