They develop because of voice misuse, overuse and\/or abuse. An otorhinolaryngologist (a phoniatrician &#8211; if possible), a clinical speech and language therapist, and a clinical psychologist should be involved in the diagnostics of vocal fold nodules. All three professionals also cooperate during their treatment, but the speech and language thera\u00adpist has the principal role. Surgical treatment is taken into consideration only when voice therapy has been unsuccessful.
