Medical History and Examination of Adult Patients with Infectious Disease

Infectious diseases are becoming more complicated to diagnose and treat. History plays a critical role in narrowing the differential diagnosis and deciding on the most appropriate diagnostic tests. Symptoms often are transient and are sometimes recalled by the patient only after repeated inquiry by the doctor. In addition to a careful history, careful physical examination is also very important. History and physical examination of the most important infectious disease and syndromes are presented in the article.
