Arthroscopy meniscektomy

Abstract:

This post is also available in: English Slovenščina (Slovenian)

Today, arthroscopy of the knee is a well-established method for diagnosing lesions of the meniscus. Arthroscopic meniscectomy is technically more demanding than the open technique, yet thanks to the introduction of new minute and precise instruments it has been accepted as a rutine procedure in most orthopedic departments. The main advantage of arthroscopic meniscectomy is minimal operative traumatization of the meniscus, enabling the patient to return to work and sports activities soon after the operation.
