Ketamine drip infusion for alleviation of pain in severely burned patient

Abstract:

This post is also available in: English Slovenščina (Slovenian)

Alleviation of pain is an important part of therapy in a severely burned patient. It is effectively provided by ketamine drip infusion, which enables the patient to be actively involved in early physical therapy, personal hygiene and alimentation. The administration of analgesics by drip infusion is superior to a bolus injection: it maintains constant level of analgesia and reduces the need for pain-relieving agents.
