Pilonidal Sinus

Abstract:

This post is also available in: English Slovenščina (Slovenian)

Pilonidal sinus is a disease which typically affects young adults. The treatment of the disease is difficult; despite the numerous approaches the recurrence rate is high, which leads to a worse quality of life among healthy and active young individuals. The paper highlights the basic characteristics of the disease, its epidemiology, etiology and pathogenesis, clinical presentation, and basic approaches to surgical and non-surgical treatment.
