The role of echocardiography in diagnosis of tricuspid valve disease
The development of echocardiography and Doppler-echocardiography has provided a major advance in the noninvasive assessment of tricuspid valve disease. Echocardiography is the most sensitive and specific method for evaluation of tricuspid valve stenosis and regurgitation. This article reviews echocardiography data of a normal tricuspid valve and the most prominent echocardiographic characteristics of tricuspid valve stenosis and regurgitation.
